Bingo

If you think that bingo is only meant for retirees with nothing better to do with their time, think again. Playing bingo online is a great way to both entertain and educate your children. When kids are on summer break they often find themselves searching for something fun to do with their time. Why not encourage them to spend a little time each day playing bingo online?

Children are more apt to learn when the learning environment is fun and relaxed. For the very youngest players, many online bingo games utilize animal cards instead of numerical cards. Animal bingo games are designed in one of two ways. In the first type of animal game, the card has pictures of various animals and as the “caller” says the name of an animal, the child selects the correct animal on their card. In the second game, the child hears the sound an animal makes and matches the sound to the correct animal picture on their card. Most children do not realize that they are learning while playing a game.

There are varying levels of bingo games for online players. As the child progresses and becomes bored with one level, it is quite simple for them to move on to a more challenging level. Websites offer some very creative educational bingo games for children of all ages and skill levels.

One really great game for developing math skills is an animal math game. The “card” is similar to a bingo card with the exception that only a few squares have numbers in them. A math problem is displayed, such as 10 divided by 2 = ? The object of the game is to quickly find the correct answer and click on it. There is an animal making its way across the top of the grid and the goal is to answer all the questions in a set by the time the animal makes it all the way across to the other side of the grid. There are all sorts of math questions in a set including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Before beginning a game, an option will be offered so the parent, child or teacher may choose the skill level for the game. What a fun way for a child to learn or brush up on their simple math skills!

Some parents may wish to teach their children about money with online bingo. While the games are free to play, often the site rewards accomplishment with points or tokens. Your child can learn how to budget their points as if it were real money.

Even older children will enjoy playing online bingo. Often the same children frequent the same website daily and make bingo friends. As a parent it is your responsibility to watch over your child and any relationships that they form while online.

If you tried to sit your child down every day and drill them on a subject, you would most likely face an unhappy, perhaps even rebellious pupil. Make learning fun, encourage your child to play online games such as bingo.
