How to Buy Bras Online

A bra can be one of the most personal garments a woman ever purchases. Finding the right bra for your size and body shape can be a frustrating ordeal. It is estimated that over 70% of women choose bras for themselves that are the wrong size, either in the chest or the cup. Trying on bras in a tiny change room in a store may not prove to be an effective way of selecting a properly-fitting, appealing bra as you cannot see the bra from all angles. IntimateWholesalers.com offers a wide variety of bras for different body shapes. They also routinely carry a much wider selection of sizes to give you a more custom fit. But how do you know what the right bra size for you is? Many women underestimate their cup size by at least two sizes. The key to finding the right size is to take accurate measurements.

Measuring for a Bra
There are two critical measurements to take when sizing a bra. The band size relates to the circumference of the chest and the cup size relates to the size of the breasts. In order to get an accurate band size, stand in front of a full length mirror naked to the waist. Take a flexible clothier’s measuring tape and wrap it around your chest, just under your breasts. Do not pull tight. Allow a loose measurement. It’s important to make sure that the measuring tape is perfectly horizontal and not pulling up or down when the measurement is taken. Add 5 to the measurement and you will have your band size. The cup size is calculated by measuring once again around the chest but this time across the nipples. Again, make sure that the measuring tape remains horizontal and that you do not pull it tight. Subtract your band size from this measurement to give you your cup size. If the difference between your cup size and your band size is 1”, then you have an A cup. 2” is a B cup, 3” is a C, on up to a 6” difference which is an F cup. Putting the two measurements together gives you your correct bra size. So, for example, if your band measurement is 34 and you have a 2 inch difference between your band and your cup size, you are a 34B.

What happens if I have uneven breasts?
Many women find that after breastfeeding babies, their breasts are not the same cup size any longer. Buying bras to fit the smaller cup size are uncomfortable on the other side and bras large enough to accommodate the larger breast are floppy on the smaller side. For the best fit that will even out the look of the breasts, choose a bra to fit the larger size snugly. Choose a bra that has a formed shape so that it holds its shape even on the small side. This will give the look of even breasts. Purchasing a perfectly-fitting bra is easy as long as you measure carefully and buy online.
